Speed GuideHow to Abstract FAST in Experience Abstraction
The minimum-time path from spawn to transformation. For when your friends are waiting for the Caine cutscene and you don’t want the scenic route.
The speed method: stack two routes
- From spawn, head straight for the map edge — pick the direction with the least foot traffic. Distance from the hub buys both darkness and isolation at once.
- Find the darkest pocket that is also empty. The far edge rooms qualify; the locations guide covers the archetypes to look for.
- Stand still in the darkest spot. Movement risks drifting toward light or into another player’s range — both interrupt progress.
- Do not check on the crowd. Every trip back toward people resets your isolation. Commit.
- Ride the distortion to the finish. Escalating visuals mean it’s working. If distortion hasn’t started within a reasonable wait, you’re not dark or alone enough — reposition deeper (see troubleshooting).
Even faster: use a dead server
Server population is the hidden speed variable. On a nearly-empty server (join at off-peak hours or pick a low-population instance from the server list), isolation is nearly automatic — you spawn practically alone. Off-peak + dark corner is the fastest legitimate abstraction available. Details in the server guide.
The proximity shortcut (situational)
If an abstracted player is camping nearby, standing next to them beats walking to the map edge. Late-game servers are effectively abstraction vending machines — walk up to any camper and wait.
No cheats needed: there is no faster method than stacked conditions on an empty server — scripts claiming instant abstraction don’t exist for this game (script status), and the darkness condition is server-side anyway.
